Pensioners will pocket almost $20 extra a week under the largest indexation rise in 12 years.
More than 4.7million Australians on welfare will receive the boost from September 20.
The age pension will rise from $987.60 to $1,026.50 a fortnight for singles. Couples will receive an extra $58.80 a fortnight, taking their joint payment to $1,547.60.
